Oriol Balaguer trained at the Pastry Chef Trade School in Barcelona, working with the finest pastry kitchens in Spain and on placements around Europe, and was a member of Ferrán Adriá’s team at El Bulli for 7 years. At the age of 21 he was named Best Artisanal Patry Chef in Spain, since when he has added to his trophy cabinet, including Best Dessert in Spain and Best Dessert in the World, for his 8 Textures of Chocolate creation. In 2018 the French International Academy of Gastronomy honoured him with its Best Pastry Chef Award.
Oriol Balaguer created his brand in 2002 to convey his energy, his gastronomic perspective and his sense of innovation. The OB brand has expanded since then, with pastry shops in Barcelona and Madrid, a bread bakery, a savoury venue and partnerships with hotel chains including Hotel Only You in Madrid.
As Oriol Balaguer’s agency since 2015, our goal is to create a robust platform on which the brand can continue to grow, identified with quality and all the values that define him as one of the country’s leading pastry chefs.
