Bodegas & Viñedos Marqués de Vargas

Marqués de Vargas is a family project promoted by Don Pelayo de la Mata, XI Marqués de Vargas and IX Conde de San Cristóbal, with the aim of producing wines of an exceptional quality. Marqués de Vargas winery is located in the center of its own vineyard, following the concept of a château.

After an artisan work in the vineyard and a manual harvest, the cuverie allows individual vinification of each of the 32 plots planted with red grape varieties typical of the D.O. La Rioja to make wines for aging, Reservas and Grandes Reservas, with natural decantation, without filtering and years of aging in the bottle before going on the market.

In addition, the group Bodegas y Viñedos del Marqués de Vargas produces other noble wines in prestigious wine regions; Conde de San Cristóbal (in Ribera del Duero) and Pazo de San Mauro, in Rías Baixas; where limited editions of estate wines are produced, coming exclusively from their own vineyard.
